Cancer: Never Give Up – 2026: For the Lives We Hold Close

Cancer changes lives, including the lives of those who stand beside someone they love. Cancer: Never Give Up – 2026 brings that deeply shared experience into view, inviting you to look closely at vulnerability, loss, courage, and the love that keeps people connected through uncertainty.

Presented by Gallerium, this 6th annual juried international smart art exhibition is on view online from October 1 to October 31, 2026. Wherever you are, you are warmly invited to explore:

Through artistic voices from around the world, the exhibition offers many ways to approach a subject that can leave us searching for words. Across painting, photography, drawing, mixed media, textiles, sculpture, and other forms, the works make space for experiences that reach far beyond a diagnosis: a changed relationship with the body, the weight of waiting, the need for comfort, and the longing to feel like oneself again.

The artworks ask you to stay with these feelings long enough to recognize the people within them.

A bare-chested portrait meets your gaze without flinching. Elsewhere, a seated figure bows their head, and another rests their face against folded arms. Tears trace a painted face. Two simplified figures hold one another in an embrace. Ribbon motifs appear through different materials and visual languages, carrying a familiar gesture of awareness into something personal and carefully made.

Alongside these intimate images, the exhibition opens into rippling water, restless waves, luminous skies, butterflies, and vivid fields of color. A laughing face offers a moment of release. These shifts allow sorrow and joy to exist within the same exhibition, just as they can within the same life. There is room here for difficult days, for beauty unexpectedly noticed, and for moments when laughter returns.

Hope takes many forms in this exhibition. Sometimes it appears as brightness or movement. Sometimes it is quieter: closeness, rest, a remembered face, or the reassurance of another person’s presence. You may find your own experiences reflected in these images, or encounter a perspective that helps you understand someone else more tenderly.

The words Never Give Up hold particular weight in this setting. They can become a promise made between people: to keep listening, to offer care, to remember, and to remain present when there are no easy answers. Strength has room to include fear and exhaustion. Those who have died remain worthy of remembrance for the fullness of their lives, their love, and everything they gave.

If you are living with cancer, finding your way after treatment, caring for someone, or missing someone you love, this exhibition offers a place to pause and feel accompanied. You may arrive with a story you are ready to share, or with feelings you have never quite found the words to express. There is room for both.

Gallerium warmly invites you to explore Cancer: Never Give Up – 2026. Spend time with the artworks, read the artists’ words, and let each encounter unfold at your own pace. When a work moves you, rate it, leave a comment, and share it with someone who might find meaning in it. Your response can encourage an artist and open a conversation that someone has needed.

Come in honor of someone. Come in support of someone. Come knowing that your own story, whatever it holds, has a place here.
